Public Works maintains three city cemeteries totaling about 30 acres – Belleview Cemetery, Blue Ridge Memorial Park, and Fairfield Cemetery. The department manages sales of grave plots and markers at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
Bellview Cemetery is located at 610 Finley Ave. NW
Fairfield Cemetery is located on Beall Street.
Blue Ridge Memorial Park
Blue Ridge Memorial Park is owned and operated by the City of Lenoir. Lots are still available in the cemetery. See below for prices and other information.
The cost of cemetery property is determined by place of residence, whether inside or outside Lenoir City limits.
- $750 - Single grave space for a city resident
- $1,500 - Single grave space for non-city resident
- Price includes $100 perpetual care charge
Perpetual Care is an amount included in the cost of each grave that is set aside in a special fund and used to maintain the cemetery when the City of Lenoir no longer receives income for the sale of cemetery lots.
Cemetery Lot(s) Cash Purchases
If you have paid for your cemetery lot(s) in full, you will receive a deed from the City of Lenoir within 5 or 6 weeks. Your deed will be recorded before it is mailed. If it is lost or misplaced, you may obtain a copy from the Caldwell County Register of Deeds office at 905 West Avenue, Lenoir. The office at Blue Ridge will have a record of the deed number and date issued if you need this information.
If a grave is needed before you receive your deed, all relevant information concerning your lot(s) can be found on your receipt - section name, lot number(s) and grave number(s). You may call the cemetery office for assistance at 828-757-2178.
Cemetery Lot Purchases
When purchasing one cemetery lot, you will be required to make a down payment of 25% of the total, depending upon residency. All charges must be paid in full within one year and cannot be occupied until paid in full. Failure to pay all charges within one year results in forfeiture of lot and all monies paid.
When purchasing multiple cemetery lot(s) you will be required to make a down payment equal to the cost of one grave (depending upon the number of graves you purchase) plus the perpetual care charge for each grave purchased. Please note, burials are not permitted and double markers cannot be set on graves that have not been paid for in full.
If you purchase two graves, you must pay down an amount equal to the cost of one grave plus the perpetual care charge on the second, and you have one year to pay the balance. Failure to pay all charges within one year results in forfeiture of lot and all monies paid.
Three of Four Graves
If you purchase three or four graves, you must pay down an amount equal to the cost of one grave plus the perpetual care charge on the remaining graves. The balance must be paid in two years. Failure to pay all charges within two years results in forfeiture of lot and all monies paid.
Carrying a Balance
There are no additional charges in carrying a balance on a cemetery lot(s). You may make monthly payments but the balance should be paid within the specified time.
You will be mailed an invoice for you cemetery account.
On the bottom it will state that the balance should be paid in full by the date shown. Please disregard this statement. It is printed on all invoices sent out by the City of Lenoir and does not apply to cemetery accounts. Payments can be made at the Blue Ridge Memorial Park Office or by mail. Checks should be made payable to Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
Please include a note giving your name and account number or a photocopy of your invoice. For your own protection, you may want to slip the check inside the folded note so that it doesn't show through the envelope. If you mail your payment, please address the envelope as follows:
