Leaves, Landscaping, & Contractor Debris
The City of Lenoir offers curbside pickup for leaves each year between October and January. This service is provided at no additional cost to residents.
Residents should rake leaves into piles behind the curb or ditch line, and remove all bricks, rocks, sticks, or glass. Such items may cause personal injury to employees and damage equipment.
Leaf accumulations at any other time should be put in plastic bags and placed near the front or side street property line to be collected along with other garbage.
Leaf Collection Schedule
The Leaf Collection Schedule divides the City into four routes. Each route gets a total of three weeks for staff to collect leaves on that route.
- Route 1, northwest quadrant: Nov 4, Dec. 2, and Jan. 6
- Route 2, northeast quadrant: Nov. 11, Dec. 9, and Jan. 13
- Route 3, southeast quadrant: Nov. 18, Dec. 16, and Jan. 20
- Route 4, southwest quadrant: Nov. 25, Dec. 30, and Jan. 27

Limbs & Trimmings
City workers collect tree limbs and trimmings that do not exceed six feet in length and 4 inches in diameter. The blunt/cut end of limbs should face the same direction and be placed toward the street. Residents should separate leaves from other tree limbs. Do not place limbs or trimmings on the street or sidewalk in a manner that obstructs the travel of people or vehicles.
Shrubbery should not be bagged and should be placed at the curb to be collected.
Lawn clippings should be bagged and should be placed at the curb to be collected on your regularly scheduled pick up day.
The City will not collect refuse resulting from home building or demolition or landscape or building improvements. The responsibility for removal rests with the contracting agency creating the refuse.
If a homeowner or tenant makes landscaping improvements, the City will collect the limbs, trimmings, and shrubbery as long as it meets the above requirements.
