The City of Lenoir is home to the first operational Electric Vehicle Charging Station funded through Duke Energy's Charging Infrastructure Support Project.
The station was opened in March 2017 and is free for public use. Two parking spaces are reserved for electric vehicle charging.
The City of Lenoir was awarded a $5,000 grant to develop the station, and the City Public Works Department worked on the infrastructure for the station. The station, located in the parking lot at the intersection of Harper Avenue and Boundary Street, is the first operational station funded through Duke Energy's Charging Infrastructure Support Project.
