Veterans Memorial Pavers

The City of Lenoir Veterans Memorial was constructed to honor veterans of all branches of the United States military. The memorial is located on the southeast quadrant of the downtown square. Nearly 1,000 veterans are currently honored on the square.

Eligibility

Any veteran whose time in service was in the period of time from the Spanish American War to the present, and who has been honorably discharged from the following American military branches is eligible to be honored in the Veterans Memorial:

How to Order Tiles

Veterans Memorial tiles cost $125.00 and ordered twice a year.

To have a tile placed in the Lenoir Veterans Memorial by the Memorial Day Service in May, you must order the tile by the last Friday in March. Tiles may be purchased only as long as there are available spaces at the Lenoir Veterans Memorial.

To have a tile placed in the Lenoir Veterans Memorial by the Veterans Day Service in November, you must order the tile by the last Friday in August.

Maintenance

The City does not maintain pavers in perpetuity. Unfortunately, due to year year-round foot traffic and weather, the pavers will wear out and become unreadable over time. Pavers in certain areas wear out faster than others. Residents are welcome to buy replacement pavers, and staff will try to place the replacements in the same location.
