- City recreation facilities vary and are posted on the facility page.
- City parks are open from dawn to dusk. All parks are officially closed when park lights are turned off or after dusk when the park becomes dark.
Rules
The following rules apply to all City parks and facilities.
- No smoking
- No alcohol
- No animals (except for designated service animals)
- No loitering after closing
- No parking or leaving motor vehicles on the premises after closing
Broyhill Walking Park Additional Rules
- Do not feed the ducks.
- Dogs are allowed at the Broyhill Walking Park.
- Keep dogs on a leash six feet long or less.
- Pickup after your dog.
- No fishing!
- No picnicking inside the park.
- No soliciting in the park.
- No tables, chairs, tents, or displays of any kind are allowed in the park at any time unless approved by the Parks and Recreation Director.
- No skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates, or bicycles allowed
Lenoir Greenway Additional Rules
- Dogs are allowed on the Lenoir Greenway.
- Keep dogs on a leash six feet long or less.
- Pickup after your dog.
- Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the greenway.
- "Wheels Yield to Heels" Cyclists and skaters must yield right of way to pedestrians.
- Greenway traffic flow is that of a highway. Walk, bike, and roll to the right of oncoming traffic.
- NCGS requires all bike riders under the age of 16 to wear protective helmets.
