City Council welcomed Police Department K9 Handler Jo Lo and his partner Atos during the City Council meeting Tuesday, June 1, 2021.
Atos (pronounced 'ā-tōs) is the newest canine to work for the City of Lenoir Police Department and Master Patrol Officer (MPO) Jo Lo is the newest handler. MPO Lo has more than 20 years' experience in law enforcement. He has worked for the City of Lenoir Police Department since 2017.
Atos is a German Shepherd. He was born on Sept. 14, 2019, in the Czech Republic and is Patrol Certified through Law Enforcement Canine Association.
MPO Lo and Atos join Lenoir's other two K9 teams - Corporal Derek Brown and canine Major and MPO Mitchell Foust and canine Uwais (pronounced wise/ˈwīz).
