Contractors started work this week to resurface several City streets.
The City of Lenoir contracted with Maymead, Inc. to pave 13 sections of roads throughout Lenoir. The project is part of the City's annual resurfacing plan to maintain City streets. The paving list below covers about 16,104 linear feet or 3.05 miles.
The first segments scheduled for paving are Bethel Colony Road, Pennell Street from Powell Road to Barrington Drive, Barrington Drive from Pennell Street to Turnberry Street, Falcon Court, Watson Place, and Wildwood Road from Lower Creek Drive to Cottrell Hill Road.
Due to possible increases in prices next year, staff asked Maymead to complete 75% of the list before winter, if possible. The roads that aren't completed this year will be paved in the spring. Weather and asphalt availability may impact the schedule.
