Carolina Tattoo and Arts Gathering

The Carolina Tattoo and Arts Gathering will be held Friday, Aug. 30, through Sunday, Sept. 1 at 1001 West Ave NW in Downtown Lenoir. Carolina Tattoo and Arts Gathering is the city's is the only tattoo convention featuring local artists as well as 60 world renowned tattoo artists. The event will  feature fantastic food from local vendors on site, including true southern BBQ, burgers, chicken and much more. View more information.

APA NC Great Public Art Award Ceremony

Join us at Blackwelder Park Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, to celebrate Great Public Art! The Lenoir community recently received one of the American Planning Association of North Carolina's Great Places awards in the category of Great Public Art. We're having a ceremony to celebrate the award Saturday. View more information.

Sculpture Celebration

The Caldwell Arts Council is hosting the 34th annual Sculpture Celebration Saturday Sept. 7, 2019, at the Broyhill Walking Park in Lenoir. There will be live music, food vendors, children's art activities, and lots of beautiful sculpture! View more information.

Autumn Trash Bash

The Sanitation Division holds a "Trash Bash" in the spring and fall each year. Trash Bash is a chance for residents to clear out their homes and get rid of those unwanted items and junk. The City's Autumn Trash Bash will be Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20, 2019. Place trash bash items in bags or boxes at the curb or ditch line on your regular pickup day. School Resource Officers prepare for a new school year

City of Lenoir School Resource Officers (SROs) have spent the past several weeks getting ready for the new school year. Community Resource Officer Scott Kanupp said the schools in the city are well prepared. The City of Lenoir Police Department and Caldwell County Schools partner to provide three full-time SROs in Lenoir. Officer Matt Spears serves as the SRO for Hibriten High School.  Officer Mitchell Foust is the SRO for William Lenoir Middle School.  Officer Chris Maher serves as SRO at Horizons Elementary School. City, Google building more greenway in Lenoir

The City of Lenoir and Google are working on projects that will expand the greenway in the city. The new sections will connect more places in town and provide more opportunities for residents to go for a walk or bike ride. Earlier this month, Google started construction on a section of greenway along the company’s property on Morganton Boulevard. Read more.

City dedicates new Fire Station No. 3

About 100 people gathered on the lawn of Fire Station No. 3 Monday afternoon, Aug. 12, 2019, to dedicate and officially open the new station. Located at 1015 Wilkesboro Blvd. NE, Station No. 3 is the City of Lenoir’s third fire station. Station No. 3 will house one fire engine, four fire fighters, plus a battalion chief. The new firehouse will provide faster response to the eastern part of the city. Read more.
