Staff at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center is asking for toy donations to give away during this year's Santa Claus is Coming to Town event held just before Christmas.
"We're looking forward to having this year's event inside," MLK Jr. Center Director Lester Whittington said. "We'll have Santa here, and Toni Carlton will perform Christmas songs. It'll be fun."
Staff is asking for donations of new, unwrapped toys for a boys and girls ages 4 to 12 years old. Staff will happily and thankfully accept donations from churches, civic organizations, or individuals. Please do not wrap gifts, because staff have to separate them by age group.
People can drop off donations at MLK Jr. Center Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Fridays between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. The deadline to donate for the toy giveaway is 7:00 pm Wednesday, Dec. 21.

The first 100 children will receive a free gift!
