It's Christmas time and there are lots of fun things to do in Lenoir including carriage rides, Christmas shows, visits with Santa, and more! Plus, we have a lot of employment opportunities available.

Christmas at The Campus

Join Foothills Performing Arts for "Merry & Bright" during the 2nd Annual Christmas at The Campus in Downtown Lenoir! This free, community show will bring Christmas cheer and song to Downtown Lenoir. Pick up FREE tickets at Car Guys, Teacher Treasures, or the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce.

SHOW DATES:

  • Friday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 pm
  • Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 pm
  • Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2:30 pm
  • Friday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 pm
  • Saturday, Dec. 17 at 7:30 pm
  • Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2:30 pm

The show will take place at the Lenoir High School Auditorium at The Campus, located at 1114 College Ave SW. For more information, visit fpatheatre.org.

Luminaries at Blue Ridge Memorial Park

The Luminary display at Blue Ridge Memorial Park will be Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at 6:30 pm.

Every December, City staff make and light thousands of luminaries to display on the graves at Blue Ridge Memorial Park to honor families whose loved ones are buried in the cemetery. Staff and volunteers place and light more than 8,000 luminaries.

Blue Ridge Memorial Park is located at 2017 Wilkesboro Blvd.

Elf on a Shelf in a Store in Lenoir

Elf on a Shelf in a Store in Lenoir is back this year and the game continues through Christmas Eve. 

Players can collect QR codes at participating businesses in Downtown Lenoir. For Elves spotted inside a business, once you find the elf, ask an employee for the Elf on a Shelf QR code and scan it to collect points. For Elves hidden within a window display, locate the Elf and scan the QR code to collect points.

The game is a fun way to compete with family and friends, support the City's wonderful downtown businesses, and get into the Christmas spirit. Be sure you spread the word and share your elfish adventures on social media with the hashtag #domoreinlenoir!

Carriage Rides in Downtown Lenoir

Come enjoy a carriage ride among the beautiful shops and Christmas lights in Downtown Lenoir! The cost is $30 per carriage, which can hold up to four (4) adults and two (2) small children. Each ride is sold in a 15-minute time block between 5:00 and 8:00 pm. Twelve slots are left for each night, and those spaces will be sold in-person each day in City Hall starting at 4:30 pm.

CARRIAGE RIDE DATES:

  • 5:00 to 8:00 pm each night
  • Dec. 12, 13, 14
  • Dec. 19, 20, 21

Santa on the Square

Santa Claus plans to visit Downtown Lenoir two more times in December to hear Christmas wishes from local children. It's free to visit with Santa.

Santa will be on the square in Downtown Lenoir on the following dates, weather permitting:

  • Wednesday, Dec. 14 - 5:00 to 7:00 pm
  • Wednesday, Dec. 21 - 5:00 to 7:00 pm

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town!

Santa Claus is coming to the Martin Luther King Jr. Center Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022, to give away toys to good boys and girls. The first 100 children, ages 4 to 12, will receive a free toy.

Toni Carlton will sing Christmas songs with the children. Children will get to visit Santa and pick a free toy based on their age. None of the toys are wrapped, so children can pick the toy they want for Christmas.

Christmas Light Show

The Christmas Light shows continues through Jan. 1, 2023, in Downtown Lenoir. The light show plays on the Downtown Stage from 6:00 to 10:00 pm every night, and there are many shining holiday selfie spots downtown this year including snowflakes, a big Christmas present, and angel wings. Watch the show, walk around and see all the beautiful Christmas lights, and visit our wonderful downtown shops and restaurants.
