Don't move or drive around barricades

Barricades on Pennell Street at Zacks Fork Creek due to flooding

Due to recent heavy rain, the City of Lenoir is experiencing localized flooding on some city streets.

If you see a barricade, do not move the barricade or drive around the barricade. Also, never drive through flood water.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that more than half of all flood-related drownings occur when a vehicle is driven into hazardous flood water. The next highest percentage of flood-related deaths is due to walking into or near flood waters.
